We are indeed shooting at the higher frame rate. The key thing to understand is that this process requires both shooting and projecting at 48 fps, rather than the usual 24 fps (films have been shot at 24 frames per second since the late 1920’s). So the result looks like normal speed, but…
Hmmm, interesting. I’ll have to see it to not think it looks cheesy. I still...

The human body can briefly survive the hard vacuum of space unprotected,[2] despite contrary depictions in much popular science fiction. Human flesh expands to about twice its size in such conditions, giving the visual effect of a body builder rather than an overfilled balloon….

I storm into the downstairs 532 union bathroom. Justin is on the pot. I want to use the potty. So I forcefully push the lever and down he goes.
Cut to later that night. I’m sleeping…on the top bunk of the bunkbed (his bunk). I see his silhouette. He is swimming above me….somewhere between the ceieling in the attic. He passes by like a long shark and dissapears.
So that’s...

Alleyway by what is now the bike trail. Old persons home on my right. Johnny’s house is the next block - or was I going the opposite direction? I think I was on my way home. I was scared - pitch black but for city lights.
CP30 and R2D2 on the next block - just like on tatoine. I see CP30 waving to me. I’m scared. I don’t know why I was scared. But I was terrified - maybe it was...

There is monster made of tar, about 1 foot taller than me - almost as wide as a linebacker. EYes are white with black pupils - like the trees that are alive in that mickey mouse cartoon.
There is a circumfrence of tar around it. I am trapped in it - tar monster is slashing limbs at me. but they are too short.
I’m trying to move in any direction,...
Fuzzy Memories/Focused #1
It was a boys club sleepover at church. Dads were there. My dad was there. Popcorn in paper grocery bags. Cheese balls. Root Beer. Mustaches. Beer Guts. It was late - I was starting to get antsy - because I was afraid to sleep anywhere but home - and it was getting late.
My neurons were in nervous overdrive. I started getting comfortable watching some movie about kids building a spaceship. ...

Bits of dreams I care not to remember regret Driving down a street - cars on both sides - too narrow to navigate - I slide and almost crunch the siding of my van straight and narrow path?

I was in a hotel. I heard a distant alarm. Panic set in - the people around me scattered I managed to find my way to the ground floor maybe an elevator. I was with an old man. As we exit - I look back and up. A balcony is a symphony of combustion Black- flaming chunks of hotel rain down like ash. Dodged End. Dream I had 2-10-10
"Vintage" Dev Diary #2
I found that the best testing ground for this is probably my room in my new place. I room with 3 guys and my projector is sitting there with my laptop. Perfect to test out the ‘10 foot’ interface I’m working on. The only problem is my laptop can’t run the ‘ideal’ emulator perfectly with sounds (which makes it more fun). So this morning I tried to jury rig...

So I’m going to try and explain a major project I’m working on and document it. I will probably post pictures later. Basically it goes like this.
*use a http://retrode.org to make legit ROMs of existing physical SNES games
*use an open source, publicly licensed emulator
*Use real SNES controllers with special usb adapters
*Create a ‘kiosk’ setup with a flat screen...

Relations with the opposite sex. Based on culture. Based on a movie. Based on top 40. Based on who they are? Really? Woah
“We are not designed for this. It’s like love and commitment; physical contact and words of commitment are knives. It’s like you have a double edged knife and you don’t realize it but when you embrace - emotionally, physically, you’re both stabbing yourselves in the gut-the heart. You don’t feel it until one or both of you tries to pull out. You start ...
A feeling that you always have an audience with someone. They’re not there, but you’re focusing your every moment on thought as if they were - focusing on them. Being with them is better, but it’s all too brief. How to get more?

strange momentary thought of the day:
As far as cultural ‘norms’ are concerned, weed is considered more dangerous than the sticks of carcinogens sold by major corporations. What??!!!
This is like a tiny example that really explains it all when it comes to America
"Game Maker" 8 revisited.
I have this glorious dream that someday I will rent out a cheap room in Banbury place and turn it into the place to be for teens into old school video games. My new PC is fast becoming a repository of the old school - most of it legitimately obtained. So my thought is, if I could make some kind’ve a front end for all of this stuff - linked into the emulators I prefer etc. Maybe I could...

YouTube Time Machine’s tumblr has 87 followers at the moment, and it’s so good, it wouldn’t hurt to have a couple more!

Last night, I finally got inventory to the stage where it can run without any client side code at all, all through a tiny two-method interface. That means moving it server side is trivial. I expect to have most of it done today, and I feel happy as a duck! :D

I’m loving the ibm tank keyboard. typing on one right now.

… I install windows 7 and the lovely Windows Media Player 12 not only automatically slurps up all my music but plays it in a beautiful mini-player that just shows album artwork with transparent window-dressings.
And it organizes my music in a 100% classy and fancy ‘i am a rich person’ way - album by artist
This is coming to PS3, Wii and XBLA - man I wish it was coming to PC as well.
Best described as a Grand Theft Auto 3 “de-make” as if it were ported to nes. but it has a great tongue in cheek style and parodies other games of the nes era.
one of my favorite games ever
Is max payne 2. The game is maybe 4 or 5 hours long.
Another is half life 2 episode 2. that game is maybe 8 but probably less hours long.
I love it when they put all the work together. No huge dead spots or forced seperation and finding. Just a good story without artificial interruption.

Leslie Nielsen, a very talented actor with initially vast unknown comedic talent, has died. Airplane!, the first time he acted in a comedic role, is one of my all time favorite movies. Leslie was one of the very few masters of timing and dead pan delivery, and I will forever love his work.
I’d love to see a remake of the “…and don’t call me Shirley” scene, starring Bill Murray and Dan...
